The Sleep Cycle: Archive

2022

The Sleep Cycle’ is a visual interpretation and response to the cyclical stages of
sleep, primarily focussing on using letterpress printing to express concrete poetry,
mark making and abstracted imagery surrounding the topic.

The project consists of a mix of analogue and digital prints using a range of
different materials, such as newsprint and tracing paper. The portfolio of
work is curated in such a way to implicitly reflect the cyclical stages
of sleep throughout the night

Individual letterpress prints used within the body of work can be viewed here:
The Sleep Cycle: Letterpress

The imagery printed on tracing paper throughout acts as a mechanism
to layer different analogue prints over another, creating
new temporary pieces with more visual information.

Archival posters are included in the portfolio to
show the order of work within.
